Motivate was founded in 1979 with the launch of What's On, the first magazine in the Gulf and still the biggest-selling in the region. Our portfolio includes the region’s most successful titles including Emirates Woman - the Gulf’s leading women’s magazine, the GCC’s most respected business title, Gulf Business and identity - the pioneering design, interior and property magazine.
Through our global publishing partnerships with Conde Nast, Haymarket and HOLA! we have launched Middle East editions of such respected titles as Golf Digest, Stuff, Campaign and HELLO!.
Motivate Publishing is recognised as a trusted and prestigious contract publisher with a blue-chip list of titles for multi-national companies including Emirates airline, the Jumeirah hotel group and Emaar property group, along with Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and the Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Departments of Civil Aviation, demonstrating the highest levels of confidence in Motivate's professionalism and expertise.
Motivate's most renowned book imprint is the Arabian Heritage Series, which comprises the region's best-selling books from internationally acclaimed writers and photographers such as Sir Wilfred Thesiger, Ronald Codrai, Patrick Lichfield and Noor Ali Rashid and imprints including Gulf Business Books.
In 2007, Motivate was honoured to publish My Vision, the memoirs of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In 2008 Motivate published the first volume of Sheikh Mohammed's personal poetry with a foreword from Paulo Coelho.

Supporting our core publishing brands, Motivate provides extensive commercial sponsorship to many of the region’s most notable events including the Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies Masters golf tournaments, the Dubai Rugby 7s, the Dubai International Film Festival and the Dubai International Jazz Festival. In addition, through Motivate Events, we organise and promote our own events including the What's On Awards, the Business Traveller Awards and the Home Owner Dubai exhibitions.
Other successful associations include a joint venture with the Cannes International Advertising Festival, through which the Dubai International Advertising Festival and Dubai Lynx Advertising Awards are staged annually in Dubai.
